Introduction

This privacy policy applies to the PrepWeek iOS app (the "Application") and the prepweek.app website (the "Website"). PrepWeek is provided as a commercial service and is intended for use "AS IS."

Information We Collect and How It's Used

PrepWeek is private by default and does not require an account to get started. When you use the Application, the following information is stored locally on your device:

• Profile Settings: Household size, cooking preferences, food exclusions, flavor preferences, and usual off-plan dinner days so PrepWeek can create dinner plans that fit your preferences.
• Plan and Shopping Data: Your generated dinner plan, meal groups, recipe choices, favorites, and shopping list state so you can use the app across sessions.
• Recipe Signals: Local recipe history, favorites, and recommendation signals so future plans can avoid excessive repetition and better reflect your choices.

The Application sends anonymous product interactions to Mixpanel, such as app opens and onboarding progress, so we can understand whether the core planning flow works. Mixpanel receives a random app-specific identifier and coarse interaction counts. We do not send names, email addresses, or free-text food preferences.

If you allow Website analytics, Google Analytics records page visits and interactions such as App Store button clicks. This may include the page path and title, referrer, approximate location, device and browser information, and the name and placement of the button clicked. We do not send names, email addresses, food preferences, or other free-text personal information to Google Analytics.

Sharing Your Information

We share information only in limited cases:

• Service Providers: If you allow Website analytics, the interaction data described above is processed by Google Analytics on our behalf.
• Compliance with Laws: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or valid legal request.
• Protection of Rights: We may disclose information when necessary to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service.

We do not sell your personal information.

Third-Party Services

The Application uses Mixpanel for first-party product analytics and may rely on app platform, crash reporting, or diagnostics providers with their own privacy policies. Mixpanel processes analytics data as described in Mixpanel's Privacy Policy.

The Website uses Google Analytics only after you choose "Allow analytics." Advertising storage, ad personalization, and Google Signals remain disabled. Google may process analytics data as described in Google's Privacy Policy.

PrepWeek planning data is stored locally on your device by default. No account is required to get started.

Your Choices

You can allow or decline Website analytics when first asked. You can change that choice at any time using "Analytics settings" in the Website footer. Declining analytics does not affect access to the Website.

You can also:

• Reset local app data from Settings
• Change app permissions in device settings
• Uninstall the Application to remove its locally stored data

Children's Privacy

The Application is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect data from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. No method of storage is perfectly secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

• Local Storage: Profile settings, dinner plans, shopping lists, favorites, and recipe signals are stored locally on your device.
• Data Transmission: If future features transmit data to services, that data will be transmitted using encrypted connections where available.

Data Retention

• Local App Data: Stored locally until removed by you, reset from Settings, or removed when the app is uninstalled.
• Website Consent Choice: Stored in your browser's local storage until you clear site data or change the choice through Analytics settings.
• Analytics and Diagnostics Data: Mixpanel, Google Analytics, and diagnostics providers may retain data according to our configured retention settings and their terms.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Updates are reflected on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.

Your Consent

Website analytics is optional and remains disabled unless you allow it. The Application's first-party product analytics is described above and in its App Store privacy disclosures.

Website Page-Load Measurement

If you allow analytics on prepweek.app, we use Mixpanel's EU service to count page views and clicks to the App Store. Events contain the published page path, button placement, and a broad source category such as Google, Bing, referral, or direct. We do not send full referring URLs, URL query strings, or visitor IP addresses to Mixpanel.

This Mixpanel measurement does not use cookies or store identifiers in browser storage; the shared analytics consent choice is stored locally. A random identifier exists only during a single page load to connect that page view to its first App Store click. It is discarded when you leave or reload the page and is never connected to your activity in the app. We respect browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals.

These counts help us decide which pages are useful. They measure visits and outbound clicks, rather than confirmed downloads or individual visitors. Mixpanel processes the events under its privacy policy.
